AI Interview Agents vs Paradox: what is different.
Updated 5 October 2026
Paradox describes itself as conversational hiring software, with an assistant named Olivia that handles chat, text, screening and scheduling tasks. AI Interview Agents does a narrower job: it runs a spoken, two-way first-round interview and produces a scored report. They overlap at screening, but start from different places in the hiring process.
What does each product do?
Paradox describes its product as conversational hiring software that gets work done for you. Its homepage presents an AI assistant named Olivia that automates tasks so recruiters can spend more time with people. The product names listed on its site include Conversational ATS, Candidate Experience Agent, Conversational Career Sites, Conversational Apply and Conversational Scheduling. According to its site, the work covers candidate questions, screening, interview scheduling, reminders and onboarding documents, over channels such as text, chat, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and email.
AI Interview Agents (AIIA) runs two-way spoken first-round interviews in the candidate's browser, with no app install. The employer sets the job title, job description and the areas to cover, and the questions are built from that. The interviewer listens and asks follow-up questions based on what the candidate said. Interviews can run in English, Hindi or Arabic. For each candidate the hiring team gets a transcript, an interview report with scores and written reasoning tied to what the candidate said, and a recording when one is available. A person on the hiring team makes every hiring decision.

When is Paradox the better choice?
Paradox is the better choice when your biggest problem is the work around the interview rather than the interview itself. Its site describes automated scheduling for one-to-one, panel and group interviews, reminders, answers to candidate questions around the clock, a conversational career site and an ATS. If your recruiters spend most of their time on messaging and calendar coordination for many applicants, that is the problem it describes solving. It also lists text, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and email as channels, which helps if your candidates mostly reply on messaging apps and you want everything in one conversational flow.
When is AI Interview Agents the better choice?
AIIA is the better choice when you want a spoken, two-way first-round interview that adapts to what each candidate says, in English, Hindi or Arabic. Candidates join from a link sent by email or WhatsApp and do not install anything. You can start on the free plan, paid plans are quoted by hiring volume, there are no per-seat fees, and candidates never need a licence. Small teams and agencies can start without a procurement process. If the gap in your process is the first conversation about the job itself, a spoken interview with a scored report addresses that directly.
How should you decide?
Put the same questions to both vendors and compare the answers in writing. Our guide to comparing AI interview vendors goes through each step. You can also book a demo to see an AIIA interview and report, or open the sample report first.
- Is your main problem scheduling and candidate questions, or evaluating what candidates can say about the role?
- Does the first screen need to be a spoken conversation, or are chat and text answers enough?
- Which ATS do you use, and does the vendor replace it or work alongside it?
- How is pricing set, and is any of it visible before you speak to sales?
