WhatsApp and email invitations.
Updated 5 October 2026
When you schedule a candidate, AI Interview Agents sends the interview invitation by email. If the candidate has a valid mobile number, it also sends a WhatsApp message with a button that opens the interview. The candidate takes the interview in a browser, with nothing to install.
What does the candidate receive?
| Channel | When it is sent | What it contains |
|---|---|---|
| Every time a candidate is scheduled | The role, your company name and a link to start the interview | |
| When the candidate has a valid mobile number | The candidate's first name, the role, your company name and a Start interview button |
Both messages open the same interview. The link works in a browser on a laptop or a phone.
Can you send reminders?
Yes. Reminder emails can be sent to candidates who have not started. WhatsApp reminders are a setting on each role and are off unless you switch them on.
What do you need to set up?
Nothing on the WhatsApp side. Messages go out from AI Interview Agents, so you do not need your own WhatsApp Business account. You add candidates with an email address, and a mobile number if you want the WhatsApp message to go out.
Why send both?
Candidates check different places. An email can sit unread in a crowded inbox, and a message on a phone is often seen sooner. Sending both gives the candidate two ways to reach the same interview.
What should you tell candidates yourself?
- That the first round is a spoken interview with an AI interviewer, and a person on your team reviews it.
- How long to set aside and that they need a quiet place and a working microphone and camera.
- Who to contact if they need an adjustment or cannot use the link.
The AI interview invitation template has wording you can copy for your own message.
What is not included?
AIIA does not sync with your calendar and does not send messages from your own WhatsApp number or your own email domain. Candidates start the interview from the link at a time that suits them, within the window you set.
