Integrations

Must-have integrations for AI interviewer software.

Updated 22 October 2026

The integration that matters most for AI interviewer software is the one with your applicant tracking system (ATS), because that is where your candidates and stages already live. After that come scheduling, messaging channels for invitations and reminders, a link to your HR system, and results from skills assessments.

What are the must-have integrations for AI interviewer software?

Five kinds of connection decide how well an AI interviewer fits into your hiring process. Which ones matter most depends on how you hire, but most teams start with the ATS.

  1. Applicant tracking system (ATS): candidates, jobs and stages should come in from your ATS without retyping, and ideally the interview results go back to the candidate record.
  2. Calendar and scheduling: invitations, reminders and rescheduling should not need a person to coordinate them by hand.
  3. Messaging channels: email and phone messaging such as WhatsApp or SMS carry invitations, reminders and follow-ups to candidates.
  4. HR system (HRIS or HCM): a link to your HR system helps hand a hired candidate on to onboarding.
  5. Assessments: skills test results sit better next to the interview evidence than in a separate place.

An open way to connect other tools, such as an API, webhooks or an automation service, covers whatever a vendor has not built for you.

Which of these does AI Interview Agents connect to today?

NeedWhat exists today
ATSA one-way import of open jobs and applicants from Greenhouse, with read-only access. Nothing is written back. No other ATS is connected. For other systems, upload CVs in a batch or import a CSV file. See the Greenhouse integration.
Calendar and schedulingNo calendar sync. Candidates start the interview from a link, within the window you set. An assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude can schedule, reschedule and cancel interviews through the connector.
MessagingInvitations by email, and by WhatsApp when the candidate has a valid mobile number. Reminder emails, and WhatsApp reminders as a setting on each role. See WhatsApp and email invitations.
HR systemNone of the connections on this list is an HR system connection.
AssessmentsNone of the connections on this list is a skills assessment connection.
Open connectionThe connector for ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and gives an assistant the same actions you have in the dashboard.

How do you integrate an AI interview copilot with an existing ATS?

Connect an AI interview tool to your ATS in a two-way flow: pull the candidate, job, stage and interview schedule into the tool, and push the transcript, summary, scorecard and recommendation back to the candidate record.

The connection is usually built in one of four ways: a native connector that the vendor maintains, the ATS's own API, webhooks that fire when a candidate changes stage, or an automation service that sits between the two. Ask the vendor which method it uses for your ATS and which fields move in each direction.

An interview copilot helps a person run an interview with guides, transcription and notes, and it needs the same two-way flow. AI Interview Agents works differently. Its AI interviewer runs the first-round interview itself, and its only ATS link is the one-way Greenhouse import above, so you update candidate stages in your ATS yourself.

What implementation questions should you ask during an AI interviewer demo?

Ask how the tool connects to your ATS, what setup takes, how questions and scoring are configured, where data is stored, and what human oversight exists. Put the same questions to every vendor and compare the written answers.

  • Integration: which ATS and HR system connections are built, which fields move in each direction, and who maintains them?
  • Implementation: how long does setup take, and what does your own team need to provide?
  • Configuration: who writes and edits the questions, competencies, scoring rubric and interview flow?
  • Data: where are transcripts and recordings stored, how long are they kept, who can see them, and is any model trained on them?
  • Fairness and compliance: what explanation of each score and what audit trail do you get?
  • Human oversight: does a person make the decision, and can you review every score?
