Reference Check Question Kit

Turn a job description into reference questions with follow-ups and a blank notes sheet. Review the draft before a human-led reference conversation.

We couldn't confirm this tool's live status. Typical limits are shown below — you can still try generating.

No candidate data is needed. Do not paste names, resumes or contact details. Paste only the job description below. AIIA sends what you paste to an AI model provider to generate this result. We don't save a report by default. The provider's own data retention policy applies to processing.

You get 5 free generations per day, shared across all free tools (resets at 00:00 UTC). We couldn't confirm this live — the number shown is the default.

Minimum 40 characters. No candidate name, resume, or contact information — this tool only reads the job description. Vague or contradictory descriptions produce clarification questions instead of an assumed seniority.

Reference Check Question Kit

Role summary

A backend engineering role focused on owning a payments service and an on-call rotation.

Questions

  1. Can you describe a specific piece of the payments service this person built or maintained?

    • Tests: Hands-on backend ownership
    • From the job description: "own the payments service end to end"
    • Evidence to collect: A concrete system or feature and this person's own role in it.
    • Follow-up: What would they do differently if they rebuilt it today?
  2. What was this person's experience with the on-call rotation? If you never observed this, that's fine to say.

    • Tests: On-call ownership
    • From the job description: "participate in a shared on-call rotation"
    • Evidence to collect: A specific on-call incident and how they responded.
    • Follow-up: How did they handle a production incident, if any?

Reference notes

Fill this in during the call. Nothing below is generated.

  • Referee relationship and context: [Not recorded]
  • Q1 observations: [Not recorded]
  • Q2 observations: [Not recorded]
  • Questions the referee could not answer: [Not recorded]

This is a synthetic example for illustration — not a real generated result.

How this works

Paste a job description for the role a candidate is being considered for. The tool drafts 6 to 10 questions a recruiter can ask a former manager or colleague, each one tied to a specific requirement in that job description and asking only about job-related work the referee actually observed. Every question explicitly allows the referee to say they never observed the relevant behaviour. This tool never contacts anyone, never scores or rates a candidate, and never asks for or accepts a candidate's name, resume, or contact information — it only reads the role you describe. Vague or contradictory job descriptions produce clarification questions instead of an assumed seniority.

Limitations

  • This is an editable draft of questions, not a validated assessment or an automated hiring decision.
  • No referee is contacted automatically — you decide whether, how, and whom to contact.
  • A quotation shown next to a question is checked against the job description you pasted; that does not mean the question itself is relevant, fair, or legally compliant for your situation.
  • Get the candidate's consent before contacting a reference.
  • Results are not saved on our servers by default and are not indexed or shared publicly.
