Best AI interview tools for 2027
Updated Oct 27, 2026 · 7 min read
For recruiters who want the first-round conversation done for them, pick a two-way AI interviewer such as AIIA (AI Interview Agents), or Interviewer.ai on its Professional plan, which adds conversational AI avatar interviews. For recorded answers that a person watches later, pick a one-way video tool such as Willo, Hireflix, Truffle or Spark Hire. For large enterprise programs with a sales-led contract, HireVue is the usual name.
We make AIIA, so it is in the tables with the rest. The tables are not a ranking. They group tools by what the candidate actually does, and every price is the one each vendor published on its own pricing page on 27 October 2026.
What changed going into 2027?
Two things. First, AI interviews moved from recorded answers to real conversations: the AI asks a question, listens, and asks a follow-up based on the answer. Second, published prices got lower and simpler. Several tools now sell monthly plans with no annual contract, which matters if you are a freelance recruiter whose volume goes up and down.

Which tool is best for which job?
- Best for freelance recruiters and small agencies: a monthly plan with no annual contract and several seats. AIIA Pro and Willo Lite both sell month to month. AIIA also runs the first-round conversation itself, so you read a scored report instead of watching recordings.
- Best for hiring in many languages: check that the spoken interview, not only the screens around it, runs in each language. AIIA runs interviews in 75 languages, including English, Spanish, Hindi and Arabic.
- Best when the hiring manager wants to see every candidate on camera: a one-way video tool such as Willo, Hireflix or Spark Hire keeps that habit.
- Best on a tight budget for small volume: Truffle Starter is 49 dollars a month, and Hireflix Small is 75 dollars a month billed yearly for companies under 50 employees.
- Best for large enterprise programs: HireVue sells through a demo and a custom contract.
One-way video or a two-way AI interview?
A one-way video interview sends set questions, and the candidate records answers on their own time. A person then watches the recordings. A two-way AI interview is a spoken conversation: the AI asks, listens, and asks a follow-up, then writes a scored report. One-way video removes the scheduling. A two-way AI interview also removes the first-round call itself. Our guide to AI interviews versus one-way video goes further, and AI interview software pricing covers pricing models and contract terms.
How should you choose?
- Write down your monthly candidate volume, the roles open at once, and the languages your candidates speak.
- Decide if the first round should be a recorded video, a spoken two-way interview, or a mix of the two.
- Price each option at your real volume, including any annual term, seat limit or credit rule.
- Ask each vendor for a sample of what you receive for one candidate.
- Run one real role through your two closest options and compare the shortlists they produce.
Where does AIIA fit?
AIIA runs a spoken, two-way first-round interview in the candidate's browser, with no app install. Questions come from your job description, the interviewer asks follow-ups, and you get a transcript, a scored report with written reasoning, and a recording when one is available. Invitations go out by email or WhatsApp. A person makes every hiring decision. The sample report shows what you receive.
There is a free plan with 10 interview credits a month, and Pro is 99 dollars a month for 200 interview credits and 5 seats, with no annual contract. See the pricing page.
